Print | 07: Preparing your Exposed Screen for Print | Next >>
After your exposed screen is thoroughly dry
1. Hold your screen up to the light and check it for any areas of open mesh that you do not want to print, (remembering that even a pinhole of open mesh will allow dye through)
2. Place your screen on the window sill (or even better - on a light box), then on the mesh side of your screen, paint out all of the unrequired areas of open mesh with a small paint brush and some of the emulsion that you used to coat the screen with. There is no need to paint out the area of mesh directly in from the frame.
Then leave to thoroughly dry.
3. Use parcel tape on the mesh side of your screen, to tape up the area of open mesh on all four sides of your screen. Ensuring there are no gaps where dye can pass through.
