Hi, my name is Rob Morgan I have a Masters of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Mechanical and Offshore Engineering and a BSc Honours Applied Sciences - Specialising in Physics. Currently, I am working as a Pipeline Engineer with Coflexip Stena Offshore Ltd.

Within Coflexip my responsibilities include:

The design and application of new technology and products within the remit of the Offshore Engineering Division. Looking at Flow Assurance of pipes from insulation coating, to pipe-in-pipe, heating of flow lines and risers. Reeling Technology including pipe behaviour throughout the laying process, analysing the strength of pipelines in deepwater, development and application of accurate analysis tools, impact of reeling on riser design. New product development examples of which are the development of plastic liners for hydrocarbon transport, buckle arrestors and pipe-in-pipe waterstops. The job also required procurement of parts for testing and the testing of new products in both onshore and offshore environments.

My most recent project involved in the study of ovality measurements of new diameter pipeline and how this effects the collapse pressure tolerance of the pipe at large water depth.

To relax I enjoy Swimming, Hill walking - Have climbed a number of Munros, Mountain Biking, Squash and Sailing. I am currently training to attain coastal Skippers award.
