I graduated from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and received my Degree in February 1989. In March 1997, I concluded and obtained my PhD Degree at the Fluids Section of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NTUA on numerical methods for Wind Turbine Wakes and Wind Farm Analysis.
During the past 9 years I have gained my experience in the field by being involved in a wide range of activities: from academic research and teaching, to feasibility studies and field implementations. I have been conducting research in the area of aerodynamics, wind energy and renewable energy sources. Since 1989, I have been working in 7 research projects financed by the European Union and the Greek Secretariat for Research and Technology. The main topics are the following:
- Wind turbine aerodynamics
- Analysis and design of wind farms
- Applications of Renewable Energy Sources and especially Wind Energy in local and national level
- Water desalination using renewables
During the same period I have published 15 papers in Scientific and Technical Journals and Conference Proceedings.
Since July 1998, I am working as a Lecturer at the School of Mechanical and Offshore Engineering of the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
