Babs Oyeneyin

Babs Oyeneyin is currently a Reader of Petroleum/Offshore Engineering in the School of Mechanical and Offshore Engineering at The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK. He was until recently a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University , Edinburgh, UK. He has had over 20 years of combined industrial, academic research and consultancy experience. He has had industrial attachments with a number of major oil companies and was a field engineer with Forex Nigeria Ltd before joining the Faculty of the Department of Petroleum Engineering , University of Benin, Nigeria where he was Senior Lecturer and Head of Petroleum Engineering before moving to Heriot-Watt University in 1990.

He holds a B.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Benin (1975), M.Sc in Petroleum Engineering (1978) and Ph.D in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University , Edinburgh, UK (1983)

His interests are in Oil/Gas Well Technology(drilling/completion fluids optimisation, Oil/gas production optimisation, advanced wells completions, sand control); Fluid dynamics and Operations research.; Software Development for Technology Tranfer.

He is a COREN Registered Engineer and a corporate member of a number of professional organisations including
