Configuration Six-Ten-Zero-Seven

Personal Statement
My current practice is concerned with aspects of skill, ability, intention and outcome, particularly in relation to instructions, plans and diagrams for objects associated with the ‘traditional’ trades of carpentry and woodwork. Given the right combination of diagram, tools, and materials – anything is possible – or is it? Even simple instructions are open to misinterpretation causing errors and mistakes to generate ‘things as they can be’ rather than ‘things as they should be’.

Configuration Sixteen-Four-Zero-Seven

The conditioning of economic and time restraints on manufacture, value & quality also occupy my practice, as does the visibility of skill, particularly the aesthetics of repetitive action and the relationship between the intellect and physical activities.
