This extensive experience in industry and education informs her current role as Programme Leader for Fashion and Textiles. Her current professional affiliations includeMember of Graduate Fashion Week committee; Fashion and Textile Association; Society of Dyers and Colourists.

Personal Statement
My research interests are in developing Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Between 2003-06 I was Lead Academic in a KTP between Kettering Textiles and the University of Northampton, resulting in the production of a capsule collection launched and retailed at Top Shops flag ship store in Oxford Street London. In recognition of the success of this KTP, the associate has continued to develop her range and her label “emmeline 4 re” is now sold at selective stores throughout Europe.
The natural partnerships between the commercial sector and design education is one I aim to install throughout the Fashion and Textiles students’ experience. This awareness of the realities of working practices offers creative students the opportunities to understand their future role in the industry and in return the commercial sector is kept in touch with the fresh talent which will enable themselves to compete in the market place. There are a range of partnership I have established between Fashion and Textiles at Gray's School of Art and the Scottish textile industry.
Since 1996 I have designed my own deconstructed collection of womenswear which is sold to the West Coast of America. This is a very limited edition range sold to small independent outlets under the name of “paTch”. Totally recycled from fabric waste, the designs are hand finished and promoted as ‘treasures for tomorrow”.
