Seminar 2 - Representation and Power
The Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA), Glasgow

This seminar explored power in relation to the authority of the artist, institutional authority and authority as individual. In each of these situations the issue of representation was closely linked to how power might be taken and used to develop new critical insights and experiences as well as to challenge authority in a given situation. The use of power can be appropriate as well as inappropriate.
