Statement:
My work is primarily about colour, scale and form, acutely underpinned by a play of figurative imagery. Referring to the hyper reality/illusion of objects set into conceptual contexts. My influences have been drawn from Surrealism and Pop Art.
I aim to draw attention to social, cultural and political issues, trying to point out concerns that are contemporary in nature, by using various media available (e.g. screenprint on pasted newspaper), including Digital Imaging, Video Editing and Photography.
I take discarded consumer items such as boxes, fusing them together as constructions therefore injecting “new life” into objects that maybe otherwise be meaningless or useless, drawing attention to the environmental issue of waste recycling |
