Statement
If it is the case that artworks are a subconscious desire made real then it would be true to say you are never alone with one of my paintings.
I seem to be intent on filling space with interesting and arresting figures. Possibly because I like people and I like crowds. I’m interested in the texture and pattern they make and the shape of colour and the way people interact.
I began by exploring the gestalt of the Self and its many facets and exploring them through the immediate and dynamic, plastic medium of paint. But when you watch someone else you are in a sense learning to understand yourself. |
