Statement
During my final year, drawing and printing have played an essential part in building the aesthetic of my paintings allowing room for an organic growth.
Gathering and reusing images from sources such as fashion magazines my work examines the confusing role of women in a post feminist society. I feel the sourcing of my imagery carries some of the conflicting messages portrayed by the mass media and society in general on what being a successful woman entails.
Through the work I examine my own concepts of femininity and how I define myself as a woman.
