Each of my paintings is a figurative portrait of a friend of mine, also including a self portrait.
With each piece I wanted to create an image that is typical of the subject.

Through exploring their personal styles i was able to make an acurate portrayal of the subject's true personality, allowing the viewer to have a different impression from each individual piece.
I have chosen to document an area of modern culture, showing fashion and styles associated with specific types of music and interests.

Although I am dealing with a modern subject matter, I painted each piece in a "classic" way, which I feel compliments the subject. The lack of background also helps focus all attention on the figure.
