”.......I often think of Edinburgh as the Athens of the North, the sexually suggestive hoots from builders and that rundown feel that’s caused by more than just open sewers......”

Oscar Wilde

Our focus has been on Edinburgh, particularly the old town, we’ve looked for opportunities to create significant new projects within the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The restrictions imposed by this context has meant that new architecture is often bland and uninspiring, with developers following a path of least resistance.

Our hypothesis is that in order for us to respect the built heritage of Edinburgh we do not need to build new replicas of historic buildings or keep intact built environment of questionable value.

Edinburgh is a living city and requires major infrastructure, transportation and cultural projects to survive, we all have an interest in protecting its future.
