Student testimonials

Jodi Goldman from New York, studied the MSc Physical Therapy (pre-Registration)
at Robert Gordon University.

"Studying abroad at Robert Gordon University was an incredible experience. During my years at RGU I was able to travel Europe, Scotland and Great Britain all while gaining a valuable education and making life long friends. My education at RGU was diverse with instructors and students from many different backgrounds.

"The Physiotherapy programme is unique in giving students many clinical placements in all areas of PT (more than are given at schools in the USA). The instructors all bring their own clinical specialty to the program as well as their immense interest in the students.

"After graduating from RGU I worked in the Veterans Administration Hospital System in Philadelphia, PA. Four years later my husband and I opened our own physical therapy clinic and fitness centre. We could not have done any of this without all the knowledge and experience gained at Robert Gordon University".

Lisa Alexander from the USA also studied Physiotherapy at Robert Gordon University.

"The curriculum emphasised critical thinking skills and manual therapy skills that are essential for physical therapists. Since graduating, I have worked in nearly all areas of physical therapy including acute rehab, industrial rehab, home health, acute care, and outpatient rehab. I now own LifeFIT Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists, a private practice facility in Kingman, Arizona specializing in outpatient orthopaedics, industrial rehab, and wound care.

"As for my cultural education, I really enjoyed learning about the Scottish culture and I think that it gave me a sensitivity to others that I didn't have before".

John Miller is a second year student from the USA currently studying the MSc Physiotherapy
(Pre-Registration) at Robert Gordon University.

"When I decided to study Physical Therapy I noticed that Robert Gordon University was the only university outside of North America that was accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. I started the course in 2007 and am glad that I made the right choice. Travelling over was simple and made easy when a representative from RGU met me at Aberdeen Airport and arranged for a cab ride to my new accommodation. The University facilities are state-of-the-art and the people at the School have made me feel very welcome. Aberdeen is the third largest city in Scotland and feels like a big town. There are lots of things to do here, the local exhibition center attracts big name bands like 50 cent and the Foo Fighters and the city football club stadium is about a 2 minute walk from the city center with games taking place on the weekend. The location also provides a great base if you want to see more of Europe. During my summer vacation, I was able to travel around Europe for 3 weeks which was a lot cheaper and more easily done than if I had been coming from the USA. I adjusted quickly to life in Aberdeen and the only thing that I really miss is watching American Football every Sunday. So if you’re looking to study abroad for a Physical Therapy degree Robert Gordon University is the best choice".
