Kay Cooper
Qualifications:
BSc Physiotherapy, MSc Physiotherapy, PhD.
Background:
Following initial rotational posts in Aberdeen, Kay specialised in Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy and has experience of hospital and community locations and an occupational health service. Her interest in chronic pain management led to her secondment to RGU on a PhD studentship, exploring ways of enhancing physiotherapy management of chronic low back pain in primary care. Kay joined RGU in May 2007 as a research fellow.
Research Interests:
Enhancing physiotherapy management of chronic conditions, including aspects of self-care, communication in the patient-therapist relationship, use of movement analysis to enhance diagnosis, treatment planning and outcome measurement within physiotherapy.
Role in the MSc team:
Clinical Tutor. Kay provides some teaching on areas underpinned by current/previous research, she also visits clinical placements in Banff/Buchan area.
