Julie Jones
Qualifications:
BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy, MSc Physiotherapy.
Background:
Julie has worked predominantly as a Physiotherapist in England across acute and primary care sectors gaining experience in a wide variety of clinical areas before specialising in rehabilitation. Her areas of clinical interest include management of chronic and long term conditions, with a particular interest in Parkinson's disease and gait. Julie has been a lecturer within the School of Health Science since 2005 teaching on both the BSc and the MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) programmes.
Research Interests:
Research interests centre upon the physiotherapeutic management of people with Parkinson's disease with a focus on physiotherapy management of gait dysfunction in PD. Julie is also interested in the effects of exercise and inspiratory muscle training on people with PD.
Role in the MSc team:
Personal Tutor/ Clinical Tutor. Module leader for Client Based Practice (HSM 004) within the MSc (Pre-registration) programme. Through her clinical management roles she has built up an interest in developing and promoting continued professional development amongst physiotherapists and has been involved in developing CPD not only within the RGU course but also nationally.
