About Aberdeen

Aberdeen is Scotland’s third largest city with a population of around 215,000, of whom 15,000 are students.

The city is full of charm and character, coupling timeless architecture with modern entertainment. It has a vibrant social scene with shopping malls, pubs, nightclubs, theatres and restaurants. Skiing, surfing and hill walking are some of the sporting activities you can do locally and for chilling out, Aberdeen is a gateway to the Scottish highlands and as a city also features a number of attractive parks within easy distance of the city centre. All that, and miles of sandy beaches just a gentle walk from campus.

Aberdeen is one of the most economically successful cities in the UK. It has its own international airport from which you can fly direct to a number of fantastic European destinations from as little as £50 ($100) return. The rail and road links are also excellent; making it easy for you to explore everything Scotland (and the UK) has to offer.

Independent research of our international students also tells us that they rate Aberdeen as a safe city in which to study and live.
