Funding from the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) enabled three project teams in the UK to study the issues and challenges associated with the deposit and management of theses in electronic format.

In parallel with related projects at the University of Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh, a consortium led by The Robert Gordon University evaluated a wide range of existing models of e-theses production and access in order to produce recommendations for future developments within the UK information environment.
