September 2007

The first European Interprofessional Education Network in health and social care (EIPEN) International Conference took place at Jagiellonian University, in the centre of Krakow, Poland from 12th to 14th September 2007. Findings from two of the interprofessional education initiatives in Aberdeen were presented and a workshop entitled "Making Interprofessional Education (IPE) Work on a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)" was facilitated by Lesley Diack and Michael Gibson.

May 2007

The first meeting of the Scottish Interprofessional Education Special Interest Group (IPE SIG) took place on Friday 25th of May 2007 and was hosted by the Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.


January 2007

During the Assessing Interprofessional Learning Workshop on 3rd November 2006 the Scottish Interprofessional Education Special Interest Group (IPE SIG) was formed and will meet for the first time in May next year. December 2006

The IPEA (Interprofessional Education In Aberdeen) group have recently run two training workshops for staff at the two universities who wish to find out more about the issues associated with teaching and facilitating IPE sessions. November 2006

The Robert Gordon University and University of Aberdeen in collaboration with the Higher Education Academy will host an Assessing Interprofessional Learning Workshop on Friday 3rd November 2006. The purpose of this workshop is to develop good practice and innovations in the assessment of interprofessional learning in health and social care in classroom and clinical and community settings. September 2006

A pre-conference workshop entitled "Making Interprofessional Education Work" will be held at the ASME (Association for the Study of Medical Education) Annual Scientific Meeting, 6th - 8th September 2006 at the University of Aberdeen. For more information on this and other workshops click here

As part of the ongoing interprofessional education programme between the School of Medicine at the University of Aberdeen and the Faculty of Health and Social Care at The Robert Gordon University, a group of Phase III medical students along with a number of Stage 3 pharmacy students have recently taken part in a novel online course using The Robert Gordon University’s Virtual Campus virtual learning environment (VLE). October 2005

The joint Aberdeen "E-learning for sharing across medical, health and social care undergraduate students: development, evaluation, assessment and dissemination of an elearning inter-professional module" project has been awarded 5000 pounds by the Pharmacy Practice Research Trust.
