Welcome to the home page of "GISUtrac" - the Geographical Information Systems Unit for teaching research and consultancy. GISUtrac is a new centre for spatial analysis and is based in the School of Construction, Property & Surveying, within the Robert Gordon University. Mission Statement

GISUtrac will provide a focus for GIS activities, supported by appropriate resources, whilst building into a centre of excellence in teaching, research and consultancy within the field of spatial data handling. GISUtrac will provide not only a service but also lead RGU in this exciting, expanding and lucrative field.

Aims of the Unit

• GISUtrac will provide training in the field of spatial analysis both in-house to staff and students and also through distance learning programmes.
• GISUtrac will pursue research projects relating to the interests of its staff and other reseachers throughout RGU.
• GISUtrac will develop a capability in consultancy. The unit will be active in seeking collaboration on projects with external organisations.
• GISUtrac will provide a service to RGU's research and academic community. GIS is a powerful tool but can be expensive. GISUtrac will provide a service to other research groups and academics who wish to use GIS.
