This project was undertaken by a multidisciplinary team, based at three UK universities:


Dr C. William Young is a Senior Lecturer in the Sustainability Research Institute, School of Earth and the Environment, University of Leeds. His research centres on a range of issues pertaining to Business and the Environment, including sustainability indicators for business, environmental reporting, sustainable production and consumption, sustainable households/lifestyles, ethical and fair trade, sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation and sustainable business evaluation.

Dr Seonaidh McDonald is a Senior Lecturer at Aberdeen Business School, The Robert Gordon University. She has two main fields of research. The first, environmental management, includes a wide range of issues such as public participation in domestic recycling, sustainable consumption and community responses to wind farms. The second area is organisational learning and change. Both of these strands of research are underpinned by an interest in qualitative research methods.

Dr Caroline J. Oates is a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Sheffield Management School. Her previous research in this area addresses issues such as sustainable consumption, marketing sustainability, environmental information and the promotion of domestic recycling. She has also undertaken a substantial amount of research into marketing to children.

Dr Kumju Hwang was a Research Fellow in the Sustainability Research Institute, School of Earth and the Environment, University of Leeds. She has now taken up a post at the Business Institute for Sustainable Development, South Korea. Prior to the project, her research was on how leading international scientists communicate their work to the general public.

Panayiota Julie Alevizou was a Research Fellow in the Sustainability Research Institute, School of Earth and the Environment, University of Leeds. She is currently a PhD student and an ad-hoc lecturer in green marketing at the University of Sheffield Management School. Her PhD is an international comparison of consumers’ perceptions of environmental labelling on fast-moving consumer goods and how this compares with manufacturers’ intentions for the labels.
